Thrive in Math through Origami Art

A workshop of Origami Math Genius (OMG) was showcased for educators at Rio School District’s THRIVE conference on September 26, 2019. It gave teachers a tool to engage students in folding origami art and unfolding math concepts. The hands-on OMG conceptualizes math visually and eases learning math intuitively.

OMG is a curriculum developed for integrating math and origami art in K-12 education. The advantage of origami in math education has been established in numerous studies.

Global dental care for children in need

Global Dental Relief (GDR) brings dental professionals and volunteers together to provide free dental care to children in need around the globe. Dr. Mark Lisagor, a pediatric dentist of Camarillo, CA, has made 40+ trips worldwide. In the summer of 2019, he led a group of volunteers and returned to Himalayan clinic in Leh, India. The team provided dental care and oral hygiene to local children.

Wine Coaster

The Studio Channel Islands will hold a wine raffle at its annual fundraising Gala. Unique wine coasters are created by artist members. Origami coasters are created in the theme of Red or White.
