China’s top-ranked education system has elicited extensive media coverage and academic exchange. This presentation will discuss the comparative studies of China’s education system. Specifically, it will focus on early childhood education – a national priority that continues to elevate the academic preparedness of Chinese children relative to other countries. Additionally, it will discuss teacher development and incentive pay as well as the cultural value on education.

Channel Islands National Park commissioned a sculpture of island spotted skunk by BiJian Fan. The sculpture is kinetic, its sporadic motion draws public attention to the endemic species on the channel islands. It is installed at the Park’s visitor center to engage public in preserving its habitat.
