Technology advanced art throughout history. Today, technology in paper enriches artistic expression in paper art. Flameless, waterproof and fadeless are a few examples of paper technology that offers cutting-edge artistry in contemporary paper art.
A floating paper sculpture of swan in its natural habitat brings the bird to life. The art of paper on water challenges conventional perception of paper visually and educates public about paper’s new properties such as water resistance, buoyancy and durability.
In conjunction with their paper art exhibition, artists Janet Black and BiJian Fan will talk about their process and use of paper technology in art creation at 7pm on July 19 at Buenaventura Art Association (BAA) gallery in Ventura. During the talk, they will also draw the raffle tickets to award their collaborative artworks. The proceed goes to BAA, a non-profit art organization.
