Conejo Valley Homeschoolers gathered on October 20, 2016 in Thousand Oaks, CA and took on an inquiry based curriculum - Origami Math Genius (OMG). They learned mathematical concepts such as arithmetic, fraction, and shape through hands-on origami activities, they also solved some mathematical problems associated with the origami.
OMG visualizes mathematical concepts in origami, advocates conceptual understanding, and fosters creativity. One example shown above is to determine the volume of an origami box through spatial reasoning and fraction arithmetic.
