Animals in art have shaped our way of thinking, aesthetics, and language such as expressions and metaphors. The constant representation of animals in art has propelled them to be the real or unacknowledged “star” in our culture.
“Wild about Paper” is a paper art exhibition highlighting wildlife from Africa Safari to Channel Islands National Park. It is held at Buenaventura Art Association (BAA) in Ventura, June 28 - July 23, 2016. The reception is 5-8pm on July 1. Paper artists Janet Black and BiJian Fan will raffle off two of their collaborative works at $10 each to support BAA.
Island fox is endemic to Channel Islands National Park. Its representation in paper art celebrates National Park Service's centennial anniversary in 2016. It reveals its uniqueness on the earth and makes our emotional connection to the park through wildlife. It also engages public in preserving the habitat of wildlife in the park.
