During Ventura ArtWalk on July 19-20, 2014, artist BiJian will lead a free workshop of Origami Math Genius (OMG) at Museum of Ventura County. He will demonstrate an OMG project and its value in education. Public is invited to participate in folding a chimney out of discarded paper and gain insight of OMG.
OMG is a curriculum developed for integrating art and science in K-12 education. It has been taught at Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program in Pleasant Valley School District, Gull Wings Children’s Museum, and other schools in Ventura county. OMG develops hand-eye coordination, spatial intelligence, and creativity, it builds brain power.
