OMG workshop for teachers
STEAM integrates STEM and Art in education. To pump STEAM into classrooms, teachers in Southern California may take a STEAM workshop — Origami Math Genius (OMG). It is held at Gold Coast Science Network’s 11th Conference for STEM Education on February 27, 2016 at Oxnard College, California.
The conference is organized by Gold Coast Science Network and co-sponsored by Ventura County Office of Education, Oxnard College and California Science Teachers Association. Participants are eligible to receive 1 unit of professional development credit. The registration cost is $40. OMG is a STEAM curriculum developed for integrating origami art and math in K-12 education. Teaching math through origami art has significant effect on math achievement. OMG workshops have been provided to teachers throughout Southern California to improve math education.
